My 12 year old kitty has always been happy, healthy and active. Last week I noticed a dark growth on her belly so I made a vet appointment for her. A day later, I noticed she wasn’t charging up the stairs like usual. When I brought her in on Tuesday, the Dr. said we would have to test her blood and if all was okay, do a biopsy to determine what the growth is. Shea went in today and her belly was shaved and the growth removed. There was a very dark blue/black oval ring in the same area where the growth was. I am now awaiting the results. Has anyone had this type of experience? Any advise or thoughts are welcome. P.S. I’ve had strange premonitions for a month about Shea’s health (even though she has been well to this point) and it scares me. The last time I had a premonition like this it was in regard to my kitty Justi five years ago. Justi died the day after my feelings were there. This is one of the reasons I’m even more scared.

Cats have a lightening fast immune system. It might have just been an abses (infection). Time will tell.

This is a new one on me, but I just wanted to say that I hope that Shea is all right. Please let us know when you have some news. P.S. My philosophy (sometimes easier said than done) is not to borrow trouble. My cat several years ago had what I was convinced was some horrible form of skin cancer on her face, but it turned out to be a bacterial infection of her hair follicles, the result of years of having a weepy eye that ran down her face. It took about three weeks to clear it up, but she was fine. Hopefully Shea will have the same kind of luck and this will turn out to be nothing too serious.

Thanks for the advise. It’s Sunday and I should know the results tomorrow. I’m feeling a little more optimistic. Shea is a bit more active and seems to feel good.
